There in Madison Square you had this neighborhood theater and the A&W drive in. What more could one want? This was one of the Boshoven-Busick chain's better properties until the late 50s when the neighborhood began its steep decline. It closed, was a roller rink for a while and then became part of the foam rubber company that occupied several buildings near it. This theater was originally operated by Busick-Willer. I believe Willer died in World War II as I went to school with a kid named Bud Willer who said he was affiliated with this theater and his father had died in the war.

This theater was used as a roller-skating rink in the late fifties. I remember going there many Saturday afternoons; they played 45's, and I always think of the Madison when I hear the old McGuire Sisters record "Sugartime." How we loved skating to that!
