This place was last known as Standish RV Sales but it seems to have been closed for a very long time. It sat at the intersection of US-23 and Wyatt Rd for years. It goes back prior to 1965 according to the historical aerial photos. My guess was it started out as a small service station and convenience store. There was a repair garage attached and a spot for pumps out front, or so it seemed. There was once a cut-through driveway to Wyatt so maybe the pumps were on that side of the building.
Going back in time, I would have expected to see RV's parked around the place on the historical aerial photos but none of them indicated that. It seems odd to have an RV sales shop but no RV's to show. There were some semi-trailers and 2 old boats sitting on the lot so whoever had it was using it for storage. There were no mentions in the newspaper archives or any Google results for "Standish RV Sales".
There was also a house to the left of the building that would have been used by the proprietor. The address I am using was on the building but it is no longer valid. You can see it on Google Maps HERE. The entire place was razed between 2019 and 2022. As of 2024, only the cement slab foundation remains. I probably drove by this place many times during my travels but I never bothered to stop in. I wish I could have gotten some photos of the inside.
