The Airport Inn was HERE. The old address is no longer valid. It was at W Chicago and Behnke Rd. It operated under a few different names over the years. At one point it was Mack's Airport Inn in the 1970's. Sadly the owner at the time, Wesley Macklin, was murdered here during a robbery in 1976. 4 suspects were eventually apprehended and charged. It was also West's Airport Inn. As I recall, the last restaurant that occupied this place was a Mexican joint. It closed and the building was demolished. The lot is now empty.
