General Information:

The old Brooks Hotel goes back to the early days of Rogers City. The building housed a restaurant and Western Union office also. It was operated by William Brooks who was named "Hotel Man of the Year" in 1959. The hotel was mentioned in an article about the Cedarville, a ship that tragically sunk 3.5 Miles SE of the Mackinac Bridge on May 7 1965. It collided with the Norwegian vessel Topdalsfjord. More on that HERE. The hotel structure still stands as of 2023 but looks to be unoccupied.
