This mall was built by Myer C Weiner in 1961 as a 140,000 square-foot strip center with 17 merchants. Some of those were Harding's Market, Bresson's Bakery and Federal's Department Store. It was subsequently converted to an indoor mall and later a power center, encompassing over 400,000 square feet. Some of the stores included Old Navy, Circuit City, and Barnes & Noble. The amazing sign in the photo was built by Mulholland Sign Company of Kalamazoo. They also built the great sign at the Douglas Auto Theater.
