Carr's Pioneer Canoe Livery seems to have been taken over by Au Sable Canoe Rental as they had the old phone number for Pioneer. Carr refers to Alan Carr, who had been operating the place for 21 years as of an article I found from 1981, which means the place goes back to 1960 at least. The original address for Carr's was 217 Alger which sits right behind 110 State St, the current address for Au Sable.
